PM3230 Oscilloscope
I have bought this little scope for about 20 euro's. Its a nice little
dual beam scope with a bandpass of 10Mhz, mostly transistorised except
for the input amplifiers and the deflection circuits.
When i got the scope it was a little bit dirty on the inside. After a
good brushing with a paintbrush and sucking the dust up with a vacuum
cleaner it was time to fix the problems:
- Triggering is not very good.
- Channel 2 signal is distorted, need to circuit trace that part.
- Problems with calibration and trace width.
Most of the transistors are of the AF118 type, difficult to get these
days, but they are replacable by BF450 transistors, but still need a
source for them. There is a nice explanation
how to replace the AF1XX series by the BF450 transistors, or how to
repair the transistors themselves.
Pictures coming up soon.
When i got this oscilloscope it had a manual, unfortunatly it was the
manual for the version with FET input amplifiers and a different PSU. I
am willing to trade my copy for one with the tube input amplifier. I
made a PDF of the manual, you can download it at BAMA the philips section.
